Texas’ next stop in Deauville
Thursday morning, France Galop validated the runners and the additional entries of the Haras d'Étreham Prix Jean Prat (Gr1), which will be contested on Sunday at Deauville.
They are still eleven in the running ; Who Knows (Siyouni) and Kingentleman (Kingman), the resident of Pia and Joakim Brandt. Among the French candidates still at the start, Texas (Wootton Bassett) will try to win his first Gr1, he remains on a second place behind Modern Games (Dubawi) in the Emirates Poule d'Essai des Poulains (Gr1). His trainer, Henri-François Devin, told us: “Texas' preparation went very well but we would have preferred to have rain and also a turn. The race promises to be tough with the presence of Tenebrism and Modern Games in particular, although the latter is clearly shortened after the Jockey Club. But I think Texas is capable of doing very well. We will wait for the number in the stalls to decide on a tactic. Since its passage over 1,400m, the Jean Prat has been the preserve of foreigners. It would be nice if the victory were French this year. »
