Territorywar shines on second outing

Last year, Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez won this Prix du Rocher de Bouligny (Maiden) with Bran (Muhaarar), future third in the Joe Hernandez Stakes (Gr2) on the Santa Anita sprint. Let's wish Territorywar (Territories) the same future! The road is still long from here to the Groups, but the representative of the Cuadra Mediterraneo very pleasantly opened his record for his second public outing (which was also his return). He had indeed not been seen since last October, when he placed tenth in his debut race, showing his aversion to heavy ground.

He wasn't 100%. Jockey Christophe Soumillon, whose form is undeniable, declared: “We had a good run. The horse of the race started 400m from the post. I was really better than him and I waited for him to relax to ask my colt to speed up. And he did really well to finish. In the heavy terrain of Deauville, showing himself to be a little brilliant, he had missed his debut. He is a sprinter horse, with a lot of natural speed. On a point, he was good and didn't give up. His trainer was confident, even if the colt was not 100%. He was not mistaken. Today the track was soft.

Mauricio Delcher-Sanchez said: “He's a horse that I respect. Easy to train, with class. The engagement of the day was good. I believe he can do 1,400m or even 1,600m. It is still immature and we wanted to take advantage of a good entry. »

He has stamina in the maternal pedigree. Territorywar was bred by Scea des Prairies, Benoit and Thomas Jeffroy. He was bought for €50,000 by Mab Agency in October 2020 from Arqana where he was offered by Haras de Castillon. He is a son of Territories (Invincible Spirit) who stands at Dalham Hall Stud.

As often with the Jeffroy family, there is a mare by the improver Sunday Break (Forty Niner). Territorywar's dam War Story (Sunday Break) ran three times unsuccessfully. Territorywar is his first starter. His 2yo by Al Wukair (Dream Ahead) is also with Mauricio Delcher Sanchez. The mare was covered by Territories in 2021.
